Just a “Spoonful”- Miamiburg’s Cookie Dough Shop

The kids and I discovered this great place the other day! We’ve been to downtown Miamisburg a few times, but haven’t been in awhile. There’s several little boutiques, restaurants, and lots of other small businesses to check out. I even get my hair done there. There’s something for everyone. It’s a cute little place to visit. We like to go and take a walk, shop a little. Sometimes pick up a cupcake at Amy Cakes or just go take a walk by the river. There’s a candy shop called “Grandpa Joe’s” that the kids are obsessed with. (Stay tuned for a post about that little gem too!) That’s how we discovered this new place! Spoonful. “The edible cookie dough place.”

It’s like a dream come true right? I mean, my entire life I’ve been scolded for eating raw cookie dough. My mom always warned that we were risking getting salmonella. But honestly, has anyone ever actually got sick from eating raw cookie dough?? I think it’s a conspiracy. Now, there’s no reason to fear getting sick because there’s perfectly safe and delicious edible cookie dough, right downtown. I was so excited to try this out. The place is absolutely adorable, down from the logo to the shop set up itself.

They offer a variety of cookie dough flavors. There’s the traditional chocolate chip, sugar cookie and peanut butter. Then there is the seasonal flavors to offer something a little more unique, like the strawberry shortcake. Yum!! And even vegan options! The owner was so sweet. She offered us as many samples as we’d like. The babies and I each tried the chocolate chip and sugar cookie, and the strawberry shortcake. They were ALL fantastic. Not a surprise though right? Who doesn’t love cookie dough? It’s such a simple, yet fabulous concept. And we’re definitely diggin’ it.

It’s set up like an ice cream shop. You’ve got the flavors to choose from, and then there’s your toppings. You can choose one scoop or even three! And every order comes with your choice of two toppings! I was so impressed at the price too. Amelia and Maddox each got a half scoop of chocolate chip and sugar cookie, topped with marshmallows and sprinkles, and it was about $6! These kids are cheap dates!

The cookie dough by the scoop is fantastic, but it doesn’t stop there. Spoonful also offers ice cream to make your gooey dough into a delectable cookie dough sundae. Or try one of their “Doughwiches”- cookie dough packed between two cookies. Are you drooling yet?

We will definitely be back again. It’s a unique dessert you can’t find just anywhere. It’s Miamiburg’s first and only edible cookie dough shop! Go out and try a spoonful! (or two!) If you’re in the area stop in and give it a try, you won’t be disappointed! For more information about Spoonful, you can find their website here.
